About the Teacher

Hi, I’m Darcy!

A few things about me: 

– Homeschooling mom of 12 years to 5 children ages 21 down to 9

– Functional Nutritionist and Registered Nurse

– Business owner

– DIY Enthusiast!

– Lover of horses, mountains, books and herbs. 

 

 

As I entered my 40’s my health went from mediocre to poor really fast. No one seemed to have answers for me, at least an answer with a solution that I could get behind. No one could tell me WHY I was feeling the way I was, what caused it or what I could do to get to the root of it.

I began my own search for answers and came upon something new and exciting to me, an approach to medicine and health that actually focuses on the very thing I was looking for.

This thing? The root cause, the WHY, the solution?

I found it in Functional Medicine.

Well, it wasn’t enough to just have my own Functional Medicine practitioner, I decided that to REALLY understand, I wanted to become a practitioner myself. Which I did!

As I was going through my Functional Nutrition program I couldn’t believe the things I was learning. The thoughts that kept coming to my mind were:

“Why isn’t EVERYONE taught this?”

“Why didn’t I learn this in nursing school?”

“How have we all survived our entire existence not knowing what is truly going on under the cover???”

That is when I realized that my mission would be to provide this at some level for people, to help people become body literate.

Why not? I mean… we spend a huge portion of our lives becoming literate in so many other things. Why is the body neglected in education?

So, here I am, accepting that call to provide something that I feel so passionate about. And where better to begin than with our kids?!
